Summary Notes from August 3, 2005 Steering Committee Meeting - CCPL Brooklyn Branch.

UPDATE ON HILLSIDESUBISDENCE PROBLEM, PESITICIDES BY RAILROADS, and TIRES IN VALLEY: To be further discussed at next meeting.

UPDATE ON SIGNAGE @ HARSHAW CHEMICAL: Brian Cummins will make available via email original environmental study of Harshaw Chemical. If possible will see about local newspaper doing article.

COLLECTION/MONITORING OF WATER: Jim White from RAP and Jim Gazda from Rhodes will be getting together to developing monitoring plan for Big Creek.

FIRE STATION UPDATE: City will be adding seven feet of fill. Worried about hillside subsidence being so near to Big Creek.

I-480 & TIEDEMAN STUDY: 1.7 million dollar study of I-480 and Tiedeman. Opportunityexists to create pathway under 480.

CONTINUITY FOR MEETING LOCATIONS: Locations were discussed for Steering and General meetings. The zoo, library, senior center, YMCA.

WEB SITE: Mary Ellen submitted a status report of the Web site to date. Among items discussed:

1. PUBLICIZING WEB SITE, 2. ITEMS IN THE WORKS, 3. E-MAIL ADDRESSES, 4. SIGN UP FORM ON WEBSITE, and 5. NEED FOR RESPONSIBLE PARTIES ON WEBSITE Two items specifically discussed in relation to the website were membership and organizational structure. A ten dollar membership was approved. For Responsibilities / Organizational Structure four positions were suggested. Persons nominated must be contacted.
